This year, I’m not going home for this festive holiday. Josh, my boyfriend, has a new puppy, Kodah. We thought it would just be too many on a road trip, considering that I also have my wonderful furry friend, Shadow. My family is closest to us, seeing as we live in Tucson, AZ and they live in San Diego, CA. Thus, we are usually able to visit them frequently and typically go for holidays, such as this one. Josh’s family lives on the other side of town in New York, so we only get to visit them during extended holidays like winter and summer break.
THUS, I am in charge of Thanksgiving for two this year! I’m excited and nervous. I’m excited because the combination of turkey, potatoes, pie, and football sounds like a dream. I’m nervous because, even though I cook on a regular basis, I’ve never made a turkey and my boyfriend eats enough for a family of 6. Lord, give me patience because I know I’ll probably be chasing Josh, Kodah, and Shadow out of the kitchen with a wooden spoon within 15-minute intervals next Thursday.
Being the food snob I am, I’ve been hunting around for Thanksgiving recipes for the last couple of weeks. Below are the recipes I plan on making. Happy cooking to you all!
I’m planning on making this Blueberry Banana Bread for the morning of Thanksgiving! A very easy, light breakfast and great with cream cheese or jam.
